Our Building Project
TGP BUILDING PROJECT – OUR RENOVATION AND EXPANSION
We are in the process of expanding and renovating our current church building. This project addresses our need to equip us to fulfill our God-given vision and mandate. Over the past two years we transformed a former bowling alley into new offices, children and youth rooms including classrooms, a new nursery, and toddler’s area. We now have a temporary occupancy for the new area that is complete. Also included in this project is a 24/7 prayer room that is currently in use that hosts ongoing daily prayer for our congregation, community, Canada; the nations and other requests that may arise.
We started the building project in the Fall of 2018 and through loans, fundraising and donation dollars we have been able to complete 60% of the project to date. Even with the delays of the covid pandemic we were able to upgrade and expand our washrooms. We are currently building a new 350 seat sanctuary along with a new commercial kitchen, aiming to finish this work by the end of 2021.
Our church is growing – Since The Gathering Place was founded in the Spring of 2001, we have experienced God’s faithfulness. This renovation project will help us reach our community with the good news of the gospel. We look ahead with confidence, knowing He will see us through to the completion of our building project. The Prayer of Jabez; has been an anchor to us; ‘And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.’ (1 Chronicles 4:10).

Our vision is growing – We are an Apostolic Resource Centre —offering a relevant local church; a house of prayer, a ministry and missions’ school; a mission’s base; a Centre of Excellence helping the lonely; broken and hurting in our community. We are a place of healing and most important a home with ministries reaching families; children, youth; young adults and seniors. We have powerful men and women’s ministry. We have a multimedia room to produce gospel music and videos, to reach the globe via the internet. Our calling is to take God’s Glory beyond our walls, bringing change and transformation to every part of society … throughout York Region, Canada, and the uttermost parts of the world!
This building is primarily a space for our church family to grow
