Our History

The Gathering Place of All Nations was birthed entirely through revelation from dreams, visions and prophetic words.
Launched on March 4, 2001 at Park Place Manor in Aurora
Many families and individuals were touched in those early meetings which continued for two years at that location.

When Russ Moyer, a traveling Prophet, began holding meetings in town at the request of local people. Many families and individuals were touched in those meetings and their lives were never the same again. We then began to receive from the Lord through dreams and prophetic words that He wanted to do a mighty work in Aurora, and this was confirmed repeatedly. One such confirmation came during a ministry trip to Vineland, NJ, where a brother stood up and answered questions that we were asking of the Lord but had not told anyone about.

We began holding services on Sunday evenings at Park Place Manor. Many people who initially attended our early meetings had experienced the loss of loved ones through tragic accidents and sickness. These hurting people began to receive hope and healing and restoration. Since our inception, people have traveled from Stratford, Toronto, Orillia, Victoria Harbour, Barrie, Innisfill, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa, Port Hope, Sutton, Kleinburg, Stouffville, Washago, Hamilton, Keswick, Copetown, Brantford, Mississauga, Oakville, Markham, Port Perry, Green Bank, St. Catharine’s and many other places. The Gathering Place of All Nations was the name the Lord spoke to us as He said we would be a church of all nations. We were unable to register that name and so we officially became The Gathering Place of Aurora. We go by The Gathering Place in general.

Moving with the Cloud
As the result of a dream from the Lord, Pastor John acted upon the call to move the church location within two weeks. A door that was formerly closed at the local Howard Johnson’s suddenly became open and within two weeks, not only did the church move, but SARS unexpectedly broke out causing the old location to shut down.

In the late winter of 2004, Pastor John Irving was awoken by a dream urging him to immediately move the location of the church. Two weeks later, SARS broke out in the Toronto area, resulting in the restriction of access for a short period of time in all area senior’s residences, including Park Place Manor. However, the church had heeded God’s word and had already moved to Howard Johnson’s Hotel in Aurora. There we continued to flourish and be blessed.

The Cloud Moves Again
Through more prophetic dreams and words, it was clear the Lord was leading the church to its current location – a building of its own. As the church moved forward by faith in acquiring 210 Edward St, the finances and resources were supernaturally provided and the new location became theirs on March 31, 2005.

In December 2004, the Lord again began to stir in us. Finances came in unexpectedly for a down payment on a building. Then suddenly a property we had prayed about earlier became available: the Aurora Bowling Alley. To many people this was a strange venture and many were skeptical but we moved out on revelation from God. We signed the deal on the last day of 2004 and it closed on March 31, 2005. We began renovations in April and moved into the sanctuary in June of 2005 and still operated the bowling alley as a marketplace ministry, creating an amazing opportunity to reach out to the community.

Canadian Great Lakes Outpouring
In March 2010, after a 3-day prophetic conference at TGP, the Monday night CGLO (Canadian Great Lakes Outpouring) meetings were birthed. To this day, CGLO meetings are held on Monday nights and people experience continued moves of revival fires and receive a life-transforming touch from God.

In early 2011, a small group of women from the church felt led in their hearts to meet in the sanctuary on Monday nights to pray and worship. Within a short period of time, the presence of God began to move in powerful ways. Then, in March, a 3-day prophetic conference was held with Dr. Russ Moyer speaking. During that conference, the Spirit of God fell in an overwhelming way, leaving all who attended hungry for more and desiring to continue with more meetings. After both Dr. Russ and Pastor John hearing from the Lord, they believed the meetings should continue over the next upcoming Monday nights. The presence of God was ever-increasing to the point that everyone realized the Monday night services should continue indefinitely.

Week after week, day after day, year after year, the Monday night services (earlier known as Monday Night Revival Glory meetings) exploded with supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit and people from all over Ontario and even from the USA came to experience the power of God in those meetings. While Dr. Russ remained one of our main Monday night speakers, we also had the privilege of hosting anointed speakers from various parts of the world (Congo, USA, United Kingdom, Trinidad, Guyana, Costa Rica, the Netherlands and Israel).

To date we continue to experience continued moves of revival fires every week.First-time visitors continue to attend to receive a life-transforming touch of God. To date, people have traveled from Stratford, Toronto, Orillia, Victoria Harbour, Barrie, Innisfill, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa, Port Hope, Sutton, Kleinburg, Stouffville, Washago, Sutton, Hamilton, Keswick, Copetown, Brantford, Mississauga, Oakville, Markham, Port Perry, Green Bank, St. Catharine’s, Richmond Hill, and many other places to attend our services. Signs wonders and miracles continue to confirm the preaching of the Word.

Expansion
Following more revelation from the Lord, Gateway Lanes bowling alley closed down in June of 2015 after 10 years of operation in order to fully occupy the building as a church entity. They are currently in the final stages of renovation and hope to hold a Dedication service by the end of 2021.

The expansion process began with the usual planning and architectural drawings and applications for permits. The officials permits were granted in the Fall of 2018. It was a huge undertaking to dismantle and gut the bowling alley but we had many faithful people pitching in to help with the work.

Construction began in the Spring of 2019. We continued to hold services in the original sanctuary while the rest of the building became a worksite. Even though the timing of our progress relied on incoming funds, each phase of the expansion saw miracles of favour and financial provision.

When the COVID pandemic arrived, our progress was delayed but construction was back in full swing by the end of 2020. We received our permit to occupy the newly renovated area on May 14 of 2021. Our last service in the original sanctuary was held on Sunday, May 23 and we celebrated our first service in temporary sanctuary on Sunday, May 30.

Our original Sanctuary area is now being renovated and doubled in size and we hope to resume holding services in the main sanctuary by the end of 2021. We are continuing to believe God for financial provision toward the completion of our Build. If you would like to contribute, Click Here
